“Klara and the Sun,” starring Jenna Ortega, left me completely overwhelmed with emotion!
Frens, I just got home from an advance screening in Atlanta, and I am DEEP in my feelings!
I went into this movie completely blind. I hadn’t watched the trailer, read the synopsis, or read the bestselling novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro.
All I knew was Jenna Ortega was starring in it, and that was enough for me to pull up!
Directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, this beautifully heartbreaking sci-fi drama also stars Amy Adams, Mia Tharia, Steve Buscemi, and Natasha Lyonne.
The film explores friendship, love, technology, faith, and grief in ways I wasn’t emotionally prepared for.
In this spoiler-free first reaction, I’m sharing my immediate thoughts after the screening and why I left the theater needing a hug, a good cry, and a big piece of chocolate!
“Klara and the Sun” arrived in theaters Friday, October 23, 2026.
