Frens, “Lioness” Season 3 Episode 6, “Sugar Land,” put me through the emotional wringer, and just when I thought we were finally getting somewhere with Joe’s rescue, this show snatched the hope right out of my hands.
The fallout from the espionage scandal is MESSY, and one slip-up proves you can have all the power and arrogance in the world, but sometimes your mouth will tell on you.
Meanwhile, the team finally gets a solid lead on where Joe may be held, sending everyone across Texas in a race against time.
And baby…
THEY WERE RIGHT THERE!
I’m not giving away the goods here because that’s what my video recap is for, but there is one particular moment involving Tex and Randy that had me ready to flip a table. Then I thought about it a little longer and realized things could have gone VERY left had they followed their instincts.
Cruz also broke my heart this episode. Her desperation to bring Joe home reminds us that their relationship goes far beyond the job, and Laysla De Oliveira made sure we felt every bit of it.
As for Joe’s captivity, some of y’all want more scenes.
Not me!
I’m getting just enough to understand the severity of her situation without needing to increase my blood pressure medication.
“Sugar Land” gave us progress, heartbreak, frustration, and another reminder that “Lioness” can make a simple decision feel like life or death.
Watch my full Episode 6 recap above for the tea, the scoop, and everything I purposely didn’t spoil here.
