Frens, Tyler Perry is back with another Netflix movie, and “Doing Life” is putting love, redemption, and second chances at the center of the story.
Now streaming on Netflix, “Doing Life” stars Naomi Baker as Anika, a struggling single mother trying to navigate life, motherhood, trauma, and dreams that haven’t exactly gone according to plan.
Jay Reeves stars as Carousel White, a reformed ex-con who has spent much of his life behind bars but is determined to build something better for himself.
When Anika and Carousel cross paths, an unexpected connection begins to form between two people whose lives look very different on the surface.
Tyler Perry wrote and directed “Doing Life” and has said the film pays homage to classic Black love stories like “Love Jones” and “Jason’s Lyric.”
So, naturally, I had questions.
The film also stars Tamberla Perry, Karen Obilom, Jasmine Sargent, and Danielle Moné Truitt.
Is “Doing Life” Worth Watching On Netflix?
That’s where my video review comes in because I’m not about to give away all my thoughts in the article.
I finally watched Tyler Perry’s “Doing Life” with my family over the weekend, and there was definitely plenty for me to discuss, including the love story, the trauma, Carousel’s name, and a few moments that had me reaching for my glasses.
