“East Of Eden” is now streaming on Netflix, and Frens, John Steinbeck’s Trask family has brought a whole lot of mess, drama, and debauchery to my television screen.
The Netflix series follows the Trask family across multiple generations while exploring morality, love, jealousy, identity, family conflict, and the ongoing battle between good and evil.
But right now, all roads lead to Cathy Ames.
Florence Pugh Stars As Cathy Ames In “East Of Eden”
Florence Pugh stars as Cathy, the mysterious woman who enters the lives of brothers Adam and Charles Trask and turns an already complicated family situation completely upside down.
Cathy Ames is one of the most infamous characters from John Steinbeck’s novel, and Netflix’s “East Of Eden” gives Florence plenty of room to bring her to life for a new generation of viewers.
And let me tell you, Cathy is colder than a polar bear’s toenails!
But I’m going to leave it right there because we have a whole video review to get into.
Is The Limited Series Worth Watching?
I watched the first four episodes of “East Of Eden,” and in my spoiler-light video review, I’m sharing my thoughts on the series, Florence Pugh’s performance, and the moments that had my pearls clutched and my flabbers deeply gasted.
Whether you’ve read John Steinbeck’s novel or you’re meeting the Trask family for the first time, there’s plenty to unpack with this adaptation.
Watch my “East Of Eden” review and see why I needed a little intermission before continuing the series.
